A highly sought after image which has attained very high prices indeed at auction, probably to do with the technique of the artist in representing in such life-like detail the woman skier waxing her vintage skis (check out those bindings!) before taking to the sunlit piste; the ?sun? motif has been used since the war as the logo of St. Moritz. This particular example was folded for many years in a drawer and has now been professionally restored and conserved with linen backing.
